Who we are

Fix and Build Joinery Ltd, registered in Scotland with company number SC902547. Our registered office is 108 Langlands Road, Glasgow G51 3BU. We decide how your information is used. If you have a question about it, email contact@fixandbuild.co.uk or call 0141 255 0333.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, your phone number or email address, your postcode or area, the details of the job, and any photos you attach. If you phone us, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the details you give us then.

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The one exception is the map of our workshop on our About page, which comes from Google Maps. It only loads if you press “Show map”, and Google may then set cookies and see your IP address.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, arrange a visit, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out and invoice the work. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use your contact details for marketing.

We only use the photos you send us to price and plan the job. We photograph our work before, during and after every job and use the photos on our website and social media, as set out in our terms.

Our legal reasons for using your information are to take the steps you ask for before agreeing a job, to carry out the job if you go ahead, our legitimate interest in running the business, and the law on keeping business and tax records.

Who else handles it

This website and its enquiry form are hosted by Netlify, a US company that stores enquiries on its servers in the United States and passes them to us. Information sent outside the UK is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

If you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages and calls go through WhatsApp, which is run by Meta. We also use an email provider to receive and reply to enquiries, and if you pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, the payment is processed by our card payment provider. We don’t share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If you don’t go ahead with a job, we delete your enquiry within 12 months, along with any emails and WhatsApp messages about it. If you do, we keep job and invoice records for six years, because tax law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it. Email contact@fixandbuild.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal information, tell us first so we can put it right. Email contact@fixandbuild.co.uk, call 0141 255 0333, or write to us at 108 Langlands Road, Glasgow G51 3BU.

We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without delay, keep you updated, and tell you the outcome.

If you’re still not happy, you can complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commission (ICO), at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
