0141 255 0333Break-ins and forced entry
After a break-in, the priority is getting your home secure again. We make doors and windows secure on the same visit wherever possible, and then repair or replace the damaged frames, doors and locks properly. This includes:
- Securing forced doors and windows
- Repairing split frames and broken keeps
- Fitting new locks, including British Standard locks for insurance
- Reinforcing frames to prevent a repeat attempt
- Repairs after forced entry by police, fire service or locksmiths
Boarding up
When a door or window can't be secured straight away, we board it up to keep your property safe, weatherproof and private until permanent repairs can be made. We board up:
- Broken windows and glazed doors
- Damaged or missing doors
- Shopfronts and commercial premises
- Empty and void properties
Storm damage
Scotland's winter storms can cause serious damage to timber. We make safe and repair:
- Blown-in or damaged doors and windows
- Loose or damaged fascias, soffits and bargeboards
- Fallen fences and gates
- Damaged sheds and outbuildings
Where roof or structural damage is involved, we'll advise you on who to contact and can work alongside roofers and other trades.
Water and leak damage
When a leak strikes, we can lift floorboards and remove panelling so plumbers can find and fix the source, then make everything safe. Once the leak is fixed and the area has dried out, we come back to replace damaged boards, joists, skirtings and other timber.
Insurance claims
Most emergency damage is covered by home or buildings insurance. We can provide:
- Photos of the damage before and after work
- Detailed written quotes for your insurer
- Itemised invoices for your claim
We recommend contacting your insurer as soon as you can, as some policies have specific requirements for emergency repairs.
What to do while you wait
- Stay safe. Keep away from broken glass and damaged structures.
- Report crimes to the police. After a break-in, call Police Scotland on 101 (or 999 if the intruder may still be there). You'll need the crime reference number for your insurance claim.
- Take photos. Photograph the damage before anything is moved or repaired.
- Contact your insurer. Let them know what's happened and check what your policy covers.
- Don't try risky repairs yourself. Leave anything involving broken glass, height or structural damage to us.
For landlords, letting agents and businesses
We provide emergency cover for landlords, letting agents, factors and commercial premises. If you manage several properties, get in touch to set up an account so we can respond quickly without having to re-arrange details each time.
